WHAT DO WE HAVE PLANNED NEXT?

We have co-created plans to return to HMPs Erlstoke and Wayland to devise further programmes, with the original participants, reaching more participants initially in Qs 2&£ 2026, with ambition to continue the programmes into Autumn 2026 and beyond.

Working with Charity Second Stage we are devising a plan to take our drama workshops to HMPs Warren Hill and Hollesley Bay in Suffolk to complement the work Second Stage do training prisoners in theatre sound and lighting with a view to a career in the industry on release. Second Stage sees real value in Regeneration Theatre’s drama work in and of itself, and in animating their practical training with drama workshops to model real life situations in work, home and with agencies they need to deal with.

We also have confirmed interest from HMPs Brixton and Lewes

Strategic Housing Specialist for HMP Wayland and two other prisons told us that often newly released prisoners would rather sleep on the streets than have a conversation with a housing agency due to lack of confidence in their speaking skills and place to do so. She felt that RT’s workshops would fundamentally help to reverse that.
